Lakes Entrance is set for a big afternoon of summer fun as the much-loved Duck Cup returns on Saturday 24 January as part of the Australia Day long weekend celebrations, bringing free family entertainment, live music and a splash of friendly competition to the foreshore.

The event kicks off at 2pm with the Duck Cup race, where hundreds of bright yellow toy ducks will take to the water in a fast-paced and highly entertaining race. Locals and visitors alike are invited to get involved by sponsoring a duck and cheering them on as they make their way to the finish line, with great prizes on offer for the winning ducks.

From 4pm, the Lakes Entrance foreshore will come alive with a free Family Fun Day, featuring live music from popular local performer Mike Elrington, a range of inflatable and giant games for all ages, and free face painting for the kids. With plenty of space to relax, play and enjoy the summer atmosphere, it’s the perfect way to spend a holiday weekend afternoon by the water.

The Duck Cup and Family Fun Day is proudly hosted by LEADA and continues to be one of our most popular community events, offering families an affordable and inclusive way to enjoy Lakes Entrance at its best. The event celebrates community spirit, summer holidays and the simple joy of coming together for a fun-filled afternoon on the foreshore.

Everyone is encouraged to bring a picnic rug, gather friends and family, and enjoy a relaxed, high-energy afternoon of entertainment, laughter and foreshore fun.

Duck Race ticket sales from 1pm. The Duck Race begins at 3pm.
