Join us for a gentle journey along the East Gippsland Rail Trail, riding from Nowa Nowa to Orbost through forests, river country and open skies. 

Guided by (coolest) local scientist, geomorphologist and devoted bike wanderer Eric Sjerp, this ride invites you to experience this changing and unique landscape as we encounter it. 

We will move at a conversational pace, stopping often. Expect stories of landforms and waterways, moments to linger, and the quiet pleasure of travelling under your own power. 

Along the way we pause for coffee and cake, then gather again for lunch at the Flat Bickie caravan in Newmerella (meal price not included), a small ritual of rest before rolling onward towards Orbost. 

Full day experience travelling from Nowa Nowa to Orbost by bike, a 40km stretch along the rail trail exploring with local geomorphologist and enjoying coffee + cake along the way. 

Bring your lunch money to grab something delicious from Flat Bickie in Newmerella. We'll end up at the Orbost Art Centre and Orbost Rainforest Centre for a look around and early dinner to share.  (Dinner: $30.)


Your $25 Bike Ride ticket includes: nature bike tour, coffee + cake 
Optional bike hire: add $50 for a push bike or $100 for an e-bike

After the ride 
From Orbost, you may drift back to Nowa Nowa on the 2:08pm V Line bus, or continue the evening with fellow travellers. 

Join us for dinner in Orbost ? You'll need to book your dinner here online so we know you're coming. An evening meal created by the fab local cafe 'Bea Whimsical' shared among the Orbost Art Centre and Rainforest Centre while we chat with our local Orbost and Wilderness Coast Artists.

PLEASE NOTE:
If you are NOT travelling onto Corringle, after Orbost, with the Flaneurs (by arranged bus) you'll probably need to sort some extra bike logistics.  

*So -  for travellers who  need to get back to Nowa Nowa after their ride, the 2.08pm bus is an option but it won’t be able to carry bikes.
