Each year cities from around the world collaborate to make nature observations during the City Nature Challenge! This international effort is an annual four-day event aimed at involving the community in documenting the nature they see around them. During this hike, we’ll focus on identifying plants and animals that we observe while we walk.For more information about the City Nature Challenge: 2026 CNC WebsiteThere is very little shade along the trail - please bring sun protection and water.This hike is open to all ages - all participants must be able to hike over 3 miles unassisted on hard-packed, uneven, earthen trails.Meeting Location (select location):Meet at the Loyce E. Harpe Park Trail Head to Se7en Wetlands, located in the southeast corner of Polk County's Loyce E. Harpe Park. Follow the Se7en Wetlands trailhead signs to the gravel lot. Please note that it takes approximately 10 minutes to drive from the entrance of Loyce E. Harpe Park to the Se7en Wetlands Trail Head.Want to learn more about Se7en Wetlands?
