He’ll have some books available for purchasing. **************************** Theologian Constantine Zalalas will be joining us on the evening of Friday, March 31st for a Lenten lecture. 5:30pm will be our Akathist Hymn to the Theotokos, followed by a brief Lenten meal and then, theologian Constantine Zalalas will present his Lenten lecture. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology at Millersville University of Pennsylvania in 1978. Mr. Zalalas is currently a member and a pastoral assistant of St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, where he resides with his family. In 1986 co-workers, of a different faith, challenged him to defend his own Orthodox Christian faith leading him to an insatiable quest for both academic and spiritual knowledge of Orthodox Christianity. Shortly thereafter (1988) while on pilgrimage to the holy places of Greece, he met Archimandrite Athanasios Mitilinaios, a great teacher and interpreter of the Scriptures with thousands of recorded homilies. Soon Mr. Zalalas asked for a blessing to bring the much needed pure spiritual nourishment of Elder Athanasios to the English speaking world. The Elder’s response to his request was: "I bless this with all my heart!" By God's grace and the prayers of Father Athanasios, over 200 one hour long teachings have been translated by Mr. Zalalas from Greek to English and are available on several web sites (www.saintnicodemos.com www.pantocrator.gr ) and on YouTube, Nicodemos Hagiorite. He has taught adult classes for over thirty years at his church, serves as a chanter and as a pastoral assistant. He is an international speaker and retreat master for all Orthodox jurisdictions in the United States and abroad. He also completed a four-year Master’s Program in Dogmatic Theology at the University of Thessalonica and graduated with honors in 2009. Mr. Zalalas has published a number of pamphlets and books.
