We're opening the shop for the full last weekend of April as we celebrate Independent Bookstore Day, which falls on Saturday April 25... and we've decided (since we fancy ourselves a bit of an independent bookstore now) to stretch the celebration to the evening before and the day after, as well. Event hours: Friday April 24 from 6 to 9 PM, Saturday April 25 from 11 AM to 4 PM, and Sunday April 26 from 11 AM to 4 PM.

What's in store for this weekend-long event? These things are all free: You can print on our 1950s Nolan Press: we'll be letterpress printing book covers from historic metal type, and you will be the printer as you operate this midcentury tabletop press. Next, we'll teach you how to make your own simple sewn book. The book you'll be making is a Book Notes book, in which you may make notes about books you've read and books you'd like to read. We're also starting this weekend a community Exquisite Corpse story, and we'd love for you to write two lines of it (after you've read the two lines that were written before you... but nothing more than those two lines).

We'll be serving homemade cookies, on the house, and our newest coffee arrival: Horn & Hardart Automat Coffee, roasted in small batches in Philadelphia.

And, of course, you may shop all of our wonderfully eclectic items... but since it's Independent Bookstore Days, may we suggest shopping our selection of most excellent books?

We are easy to find, but off the beaten path: across the street from the Brightline / Florida East Coast Railway tracks in a blue-roofed warehouse building just north of 10th Avenue North and south of 13th Avenue North. Plenty of parking in our lot and on G Street.
