Eliya Cohen was taken hostage by Hamas terrorists from the Nova music festival on October 7, 2023. Held fifty meters underground, chained, beaten, and subjected to severe psychological abuse, his captors could never extinguish his inner strength and unwavering faith.

Throughout 505 excruciating days in captivity, Eliya fought to survive—navigating intense psychological struggles with his captors, holding onto hope, and finding gratitude in every moment.

Released on February 22, 2025, Eliya went on to write his Platinum Book award-winning autobiography, Mufawadat ("Negotiation"). The book chronicles his daily fight for survival: negotiating for basic needs like a piece of pita, maintaining his dialogue with God, and holding onto imaginary conversations with his girlfriend, Ziv—who miraculously survived the attack and whom he has since married.
