As an author for grades 3-7, Ms. Winston has written several books including Shark Teeth, winner of the Walter Dean Myers Award, and Lotus Bloom and the Afro Revolution, which was longlisted for the National Book Award. Before Ms. Winston was an author, she was a longtime newspaper writer and columnist in South Florida at the Sun-Sentinel newspaper.  She is a three-time nominee for a Pulitzer Prize for her lifestyle column in South Florida.

Recommended for All Ages.
