Towards 2047: Policy Dialogue on Punjab’s Climate and Growth Policies & Strategies
LEAD Pakistan is organizing a policy dialogue on 'Towards 2047: Punjab’s Climate and Development Agenda” which aims to empower key stakeholders, including policy-makers and opinion leaders, to explore how best the provincial policies and strategies can serve as the vehicle for successful implementation of the sustainable development goals as well as the ambitions articulated under the Paris Climate Agreement.
LEAD Pakistan believes that the proposed policy dialogue is a pioneering attempt to bring the climate and development communities together to deliberate on a set of key questions that are critical for the growth, development and well-being of the fast growing but vulnerable population of Punjab.
The policy dialogue aims to give a deeper understanding of the standing question: ‘What does climate compatible development mean for Punjab'. A lively debate is expected from various delegates who are actively involved in the planning and implementation of national development polices and plans.
The event will provide an opportunity to take into account the provincial context to ensure that provincial and district governments understand their roles and responsibilities towards attaining sustainable development.
The event is open for public.
