UNLEASH THE VOICES OF CHRISTMAS!
Last year we were over 600 enthusiastic carollers on the cliff tops above Carvoeiro. Join us on 18 December at 6 pm at the Amphitheatre behind the Carvoeiro Chapel “Nossa Senhora de Encarnação”.
Many of us remember the joy of singing Christmas carols, some at school, some in choirs, some door to door with snow flakes falling, some round the Christmas tree. This night is for us to keep the magic going.
CAROLS ON THE CLIFFS is a FREE outdoor community singing event for all ages. We stress that this is not a concert or a performance. The Stars will be YOU who show up and sing with us. Sustenance will be at hand with mulled wine, hot chocolate, mince pies and stollen. This is a family friendly multi-cultural Fund raiser for the Portimão Girls’ home CNSC and the Caritas Lagoa Foodbank.
We will sing carols in English, French, Dutch, German and Portuguese - and many of them will have multi-lingual verses. Carol sheet is supplied. Many opportunities for children to participate.
The support of The Algarveans Theatre group is the backbone of our event: notably Angela Theobold and Frank Remiatte (soloists), Anne Stevens (keyboard) and many others offering refreshments. The inimitable Tim Stevens will be back to make the Twelve Days of Christmas an experience you will never forget.
Please dress warmly as the wind can be quite strong on the night! Santa Hat is optional! Bring a cushion - the stone seats can be chilly.
The event is wheelchair-friendly. Parking is limited - so come early!
