I am pleased to invite the community to our first Community Forum for the Mayor’s Advisory Council on Faith and Service.

Eight local church leaders have agreed to participate, and all members of the community are welcome to attend.

The purpose of this forum is simple: to come together, listen, and collaborate. Our faith communities often have a deeper and wider reach than City Hall, and they are best positioned to understand how our neighbors are truly doing.

This will be a brainstorming and listening session focused on:

What is going well in Lago Vista

What unmet needs may exist in our community

How faith communities are already responding

How we can better collaborate across churches and with the City

How I, as Mayor, can help facilitate or remove barriers

One early idea is exploring how church volunteers could assist residents who are struggling with property upkeep and facing code compliance issues they are unable to address on their own. Other possibilities include addressing food shortages, supporting families in need, and creating safe, faith-based spaces for our youth.

I do not have all the answers, and this forum is not about me or the City dictating solutions. It is about listening, learning, and working together to serve Lago Vista better.
