Lafayette First Baptist Church Homecoming

December 7, 2025 we will join with the congregation of the Lafayette First Baptist Church for their annual homecoming service. Pastor Ron Mathis has graciously extended an invitation for our group to come and share our ministry on this special day of their church. The morning worship service will start at 11am and we may bring the special music before the preaching of Gods word by the visiting preacher. Until our conversation on the phone when booking this, the pastor and I had only spoken in passing as he was trying reach Mercy Road and I gave him the number to call. They are unable to make this date and he called me back but had to leave a message as I was mowing when he called. I listened to his voicemail later and called him back before it became too late. He answered at 9pm and we said goodbye at 10. What a great guy! We talked and shared experiences, laughed at life's little quirks, and shared our mutual love of serving in Gods ministry. But I digress from this post, much like we both did when finalizing this date. So... back to the homecoming! After a delicious pot luck feast and fellowship at 12:00 we will assemble back into sanctuary at 2pm for the singing. If brother Ron's congregation is anything like him, we're gonna have fun but most importantly, we're gonna have church!
