**All children must be registered to participate.**

Thank you for joining us for our Fishing Derby in honor of Walter W. Jollie who passed away in 2019. His love for fishing, especially with his children and grandchildren has prompted us to spread the joy of fishing with local children. We look forward to seeing you!

This is a FREE event. Limit to 50 participants.

Location: Lafayette Pond Park
Address: Route 15, Lafayette Township, NJ, 07848

Across the street from the Lafayette Township Fire House - 126 NJ-15, Lafayette Township, NJ 07848 -  DO NOT PARK AT THE FIRE HOUSE

PARKING: All participates must park in the lot behind the Ludlum-Mabee House, 115 NJ-15, Lafayette, NJ 07848
or in the municipal parking lot, 111 NJ-15, Lafayette.

Follow the path over to the pond.

Date: August 15, 2026
Time: 9am registration
Fishing: 9:30am - 10:30am
Awards and Prizes: 11:00am

This is a rain or shine event
Fishing Derby open to children ages 4 -12 years

Child must be accompanied by a parent or guardian
Child must have own fishing pole
One pole, with one hook per child in the water at a time
Parents/ Guardians may help in the following ways: Baiting the hook, Casting the line and Netting the fish
Child must reel in / catch fish with no help from a parent
No lures allowed
Worms will be supplied
No lines in the water before 9:30am

There will be three age groups - 5 years and under, 6-9 years, and 10-12 years.

Medals and trophies will be awarded for Biggest Fish, Smallest Fish, Most Fish caught in each age group.

A grand prize of fishing gear and trophy will be awarded for the largest overall fish caught.

Each child will receive a fishing derby t-shirt and goody bag (while supplies last)  

All participants must clean up after themselves after the derby.
