She is a devoted mother, grandmother, seasoned plant woman, educator, and friend. Her history of impassioned plant work spans 40 years, including cultivating species collected while in Central & South America. In 1988 she co-founded one of the first ethnobotanical businesses and distributed thousands of medicinal plants nationwide as a conscious act of preservation. She sees plants from her gardens in many places, some have even graced the Conservatory of Flowers in Golden Gate Park. One of her final acts is to finish her much anticipated cultivation book.
