Bathrooms: There should be porta-potties on Forbidden Drive and Bells Mill Road.

Join Friends of the Wissahickon in celebrating BOTH Earth Day and Martin Luther King Jr Day (after having to cancel our service day in January) with a special large-scale clean-up along Bells Mill Road! For this effort, the Road will be closed from Lykens Lane to Germantown Avenue, providing volunteers with safe access to a heavily traveled road. By removing litter along the roadway, we can prevent trash from washing into the creek during rainstorms and help protect habitat and stream health.

All are welcome to attend, and no experience is needed. We encourage attendees to work within their own comfort level, and we always strive to accommodate needs on an individual basis. With that being said, this service day may include the following activities:
• Litter clean-up
• Hiking up to 2 miles (we’ll be traveling up and down Bells Mill Road picking up trash)
