Come run through one of Southern Colorado’s most magical corners — the **Cuchara Valley and Spanish Peaks** — and then stick around for the party @cucharayachtclub ?

Long before us runners showed up, the Spanish Peaks were guiding **Native American tribes, Spanish and French trappers, gold seekers, hunters, and settlers** through the Southwest. The Ute, Comanche, Apache, and other Indigenous peoples held these mountains in deep reverence, calling them **Wahatoya — “Breasts of the Earth.”** ⛰️

Now it’s your turn to experience them on foot. ?

?‍♀️ **50K** — Start in historic La Veta, wind through town, tackle a rugged out-of-commission county road with BIG views of the dikes, buttes, and surrounding mountains, then hit newly reopened trails that bring you straight into Cuchara.

? **Heavy Half Marathon** — Private property, the famous Dike Trail, local favorites, and plenty of mountain views.

?‍♂️ **8-ish Miles** — A little shorter, but absolutely not short on scenery. ?

And the best part?

? **Finish-line beers from a local brewer**
? **Live music from local talent**
? **Great food from local businesses**
? **Five-star local accommodations**
? **October Fest celebrations in La Veta & Cuchara**
? **A finish line party at the Cuchara Yacht Club**

**Race-day registration:**
50K — $110 cash
Heavy Half — $80 cash
8 Mile — $55 cash

The 50K will have same-day registration available Friday at packet pickup. The Heavy Half and 8 Mile will have same-day registration Saturday.
