- **Event Description**: Join us at the new Public Works & Community Development Services Facility on June 13 for a Flag-Raising Ceremony and Liberty Lap Color Walk as part of the nation’s America 250 campaign to observe the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence signing in 1776.
The ceremony will begin at 9 a.m., with the Liberty Lap Color Walk to begin immediately after.  Participants will walk the greenway for a total of 1.776 miles, returning to the Public Works & Community Development Services Facility, where they will be given a commemorative La Vergne America 250 challenge coin for their participation. Wear white to pass through the color station and get sprayed with red and blue powder. Please go to lavergnetn.gov/685/America250 to register for the Liberty Lap Color Walk.  Participation is FREE.
