Per i fan di The Lillingtons, Alkaline Trio, The Travoltas. Formatisi nel 1995 in Finlandia dagli amici delle scuole superiori Anssi, Rami e Jaska, a cui si è unito in seguito Murkku, The Odorants hanno debuttato con l'EP Tales from the Underground (1998), ottenendo passaggi sulle radio nazionali con "Not Over You". La loro musica è diventata subito cult grazie alla TV finlandese nel programma Extreme Duudsonite, e con gli stessi brani il disco Sing When You Are Copulating (2001, Mörkö Records) è andato sold-out. Nel 2002 hanno firmato con la major BMG Finland, pubblicando Beat The Odorants (2003) e i singoli "This Night" e "Late Night Call", con video trasmessi su MTV. Sono stati successivamente scaricati da BMG. Dopo altri due EP e il loro secondo full-length Counting Wolves (2007), la band è andata in pausa nel 2008. Nel 2021, i membri fondatori Anssi (voce, chitarra) e Jaakko (batteria) sono tornati con il bassista Pekka "PC" Jääskeläinen (polistrumentista già in svariati progetti tra cui la band di rock progressivo Circle) e hanno pubblicato When Tigers Used To Smoke (Harava Records).
