- **Event Description**: Registration for Aviation Camp 2026 is officially open. Camp will be June 8-12, and students can sign up for the morning session (9-11:30am) or afternoon (12:30-3pm). 

Aviation Camp is a week-long immersion into the world of aviation. Students who will be entering grades 6-12 in the fall can register for camp. 

Aviation Camp takes place here at the La Porte Municipal Airport. Forms are available on the airport's website, and paper forms are available on the airport's front counter. 

I’m allowing online or paper registration this year. So you can either fill out the application on paper as usual, or fill out the form online. Payment will still need to be dropped off or mailed to the airport.

Aviation Camp this year includes the weather-dependent flights from local pilots, time on our flight simulator, and classes that will build throughout the week. Students will learn all the key components to flight planning, then fly their own flight on the simulator the final day. Students will also learn from Air Traffic Controllers how to communicate, and practice those skills while flying their last simulator flight as well. Students will also work on building airfoils throughout the week and learn about fabricating aircraft. The library’s mobile classroom will also be joining us for a day. It should be a great fun-filled week!

This year is also the EAA AirVenture year! So students/parents have the option to sign up for an additional field trip to take a charter bus from the airport to AirVenture. This optional trip will be July 23. We will load onto the bus at 4:45am CST, and return at 11pm CST. This optional trip is an additional $50/person. Students are required to have an adult chaperone with them, the airport will not be responsible for chaperoning students that day, but will have adults on the bus.
