You’ll learn more about what makes these winged animals so special on this leisurely-paced outing with Docent Naturalist Melissa Hero and Midpen staff Doungchai Delos Santos and Ellen Tjosvold. As the sun goes down, you'll hang out near the Daniels Nature Center to see whether bats appear over Alpine Pond, returning to your car before darkness sets in. Bring layered clothing to stay warm, and binoculars if you have them. Registration is required and will be accepted on or after July 24 at 12:00 p.m. (Noon) and close on August 6 at 2:00 p.m.Where to Meet:For this activity at Skyline Ridge Preserve, meet at the Russian Ridge Parking Area on the northwest corner of the Skyline Boulevard (Highway 35) and Page Mill/Alpine Road intersection (across Skyline Blvd. on the right). Those traveling from I-280 on Page Mill Rd. should allow approximately 40 minutes travel time.
