Join the Junior Space Pirates’ Society for a hands-on comic creation club for young writers and artists! In this fun and focused club, students will learn how to build worlds, create characters, and tell original stories through comics. Note: students can write about space or pirates or anything they want to! The goal is to complete a short comic (one to four pages) that will be featured in the Junior Space Pirates’ Anthology—a community zine celebrating new young creators. The club’s weekly topics include world-building, scripting, drawing, lettering, and cover design, plus peer feedback and planning for a celebratory launch party. Homework is required to stay on track. At the end of spring quarter (May 2026), each student will submit their amazing final comic along with a cover and a short bio for printing. Please enter through the 5th Street door.
