Join us for The Nunnery and Joe Westerlund//Trever Hagen's debut concert at the Pump House Regional Arts Center.

The Nunnery begins with one voice, layered upon itself, becoming a lush soundscape. Sarah Elstran is an independent musician who bridges the gap between bright-eyed pop composition and hands-on atmospheric live layering of voice. Her vocal loops give us the kind of detail and wide multi-octave range that we might come to expect from a marquee pop star, while her production decisions continually keep us guessing as to what rabbit holes her tracks might fall into next.

A duo ensemble born from a childhood friendship in the midwest, Joe Westerlund and Trever Hagen have merged their solo work on drums and trumpet into a distinct sound world of melodic, rhythmic and lush electroacoustic texture. The pair pays respect to this instrumentation's historical context, while reaching further into sonic geographies with their shared voice. Their forthcoming debut release on Totally Gross National Product consists of four compositions born and molded from sprawling improvisations during a winter tour in late 2024.
