Join us for a powerful screening of "Under the Bridge: The Criminalization of Homelessness," an award-winning documentary that sheds light on the growing crisis of homelessness in America and the legal, social, and moral challenges that surround it.

The film follows the lives of individuals living under a bridge in Indianapolis as they struggle to survive amidst ordinances that criminalize their existence. Through intimate storytelling and candid interviews, the documentary challenges viewers to confront difficult questions about housing, poverty, and human rights.

"Beyond the Bridge: A Solution to Homelessness" (Part of the filmmakers' impact campaign tour.)

A powerful follow-up to "Under the Bridge" that shifts the focus to communities successfully reducing homelessness through Housing First strategies and collaboration. The evening will include a special appearance by the filmmakers and James Mathy, Housing Administrator for Milwaukee County and La Crosse native, whose leadership has helped achieve the nation’s lowest per capita unsheltered population.

Locally, this event supports the Pathways Home plan, La Crosse County’s roadmap for addressing homelessness through coordinated, housing-focused solutions. Beyond the Bridge illustrates how other communities have successfully implemented similar strategies, offering both inspiration and practical examples to strengthen La Crosse’s ongoing work.

Together, these screenings provide both a stark understanding of the challenges and an inspiring look at real solutions—helping us reimagine what is possible here in La Crosse.
