Bruno Leone presents The World of Music and Cinema
Following his sold-out spring performance, The Colorful World of Rodgers and Hart, pianist and storyteller Bruno Leone returns to the Athenaeum on November 13 with an exciting and explorative adventure into The World of Music and Cinema. Beginning with Hollywood’s earliest attempts at adapting comedy and drama to the silver screen and moving on to the movie musical spectaculars of the past half-century, Bruno will resurrect many musical memories and create many new ones. You will find his compelling mixture of humor, song, and story both captivating and enlightening.
Leone performs throughout the United States, where he celebrates the lives and music of America’s most heralded composers and lyricists. Leone’s performances capture the legends and folklore of American popular music in a way achieved by few entertainers. A feature article in the San Diego Union-Tribune praised Mr. Leone’s “remarkable skill of combining the classroom with the concert hall to create musical stories that actually enliven his audience.”
