3. Draw or Paint the Figure or Portrait: 5 Weeks
Mondays, 6–9 PM
October 21–November 18
(5 weeks, 15 total hours of instruction)
La Jolla Studio
$225/245 (includes model)
Using a different clothed or nude model every week, you will learn how to construct a portrait or full figure using any medium of your choice. Beginners are encouraged to work in pencil or charcoal, while students with more experience may use any other mediums, such as watercolor, pastels, acrylics, or oils. Each week one of the five main features will be discussed: eyes, nose, mouth, ears and neck. (Videos and notes of each will be sent to your email.) If you choose to draw in pencil, all you will need are two mechanical pencils, a kneaded eraser, blending stump, and a small sanding block (a kit is available*). If you prefer to work in charcoal or with colored media, please see the materials list below and only buy what you need. All levels are welcome, as instruction is given on an individual basis.
