About the event

Koling Wada Ngal (Walking Together): Tuning into Country
Deep connection | Kulin Nation Seasonal Wisdom | Two-Way Seeing.

Sunday 25 January 2026, 9am–12pm
Tara Springs, Taradale (Dja Dja Wurrung Country, Land of the Djaara People, Central Victoria)

Please join us in this unique experience that invites you to tune into Country to deepen your connection with the land, and strengthen inner connection with self through collaborative two-way learning with Wadawurrung knowledge holder Kelly Ann Blake: Dingo Spirit, Kaal Kaal Murrup Cultural Consultancy.

This event is scheduled the day before Australia Day as an opportunity for deeper reflection on our relationship with Country, Traditional Owners, and other First Nations peoples.

✨ Held on Dja Dja Wurrung Country, in the peaceful surrounds of Tara Springs, this three-hour interactive experience invites people of all ages (children need to be supervised), heritage/race, genders and abilities to explore the intersection of Indigenous and non-indigenous ways of knowing in the spirit of respectful cultural exchange .

This is not just a workshop; it's a deeply held space for tuning into Country, seasonal awareness, and learning to walk together with respect for sovereign rights.

🌾 January-February is Biderap dry grass season in the Kulin Nation. What is Country teaching us during this season?

You will be invited to participate in Wadawurrung cleansing and grounding practice. You will be guided on how to see Country as our teacher, deep listening and reflection sessions to integrate what we have learned from Country.

Guiding Principles:

Deep acknowledgment of Dja Dja Wurrung Country and Djarra people
Koling Wada Ngal (Walking together) with open hearts and open minds
Two-way seeing and learning
Sustainable practices ("don't take more than we need")

Includes:

Traditional refreshments
Take-home cultural education resources and natural connection reminders
