They are portable, affordable and easy to use in any home set-up.In this six-hour workshop you will learn through exploration and playful exercises designed to boost your confidence in water colours, so you can maintain your own practice in the medium. For example: mark-making, preserving the ‘white’, layering, tone, texture, mixed media and collage.Sarah will teach you about the vast range of marks you can achieve with this versatile medium.We will look at how watercolour can be used in different genres: landscape, still-life and portraiture. There will be examples from art history to help illuminate how water colour has been used by artists.All materials will be provided, including high-quality water colour paper. If you have any favourite materials or a sketch pad, please do bring them along.Wear appropriate clothing or bring an apron.Please bring lunch along with you.
