Ever wondered about that iconic white tower towering above Giba Gorge? Now is your chance to visit the legendary Clifton Lookout Tower, also known as the Shongweni Fire Watch Tower. Built by Tongaat Hulett to monitor forest and sugarcane fires, this unique spot promises unforgettable views and a challenging adventure!

Event Details:

Time: 7.15 AM for 7:30 AM
Meeting Point: Cafe Umfula (NOT Giba Gorge MTB Park!)
Hike Highlights:

Distance: 8-10 km
Includes: Clifton Lookout Tower, Giba Ruins, The Cascades, and McKintosh Falls
Duration: Approximately 3-4 hours
Cost:

R199 per person
Includes: Private guiding, exciting adventures, stunning photos/videos, and coffee & rusks at the lookout tower!
Please note: A R50 entry fee to Giba Gorge is payable on arrival (not included in the hike cost).

Grading:

Regular Hiker: Grade 3
Casual Hiker: Grade 4
(Not suitable for beginners)
What to Bring:

Water/cold drinks
Trail snacks
Backpack
Optional: Raincoat (a little rain won’t hurt and might even keep the bugs away!)
Extras:

Lunch and drinks at Cafe Umfula after the hike (own expense).
Important Information:

Minimum 10 bookings required to proceed. If the quota isn’t met, the event will be cancelled and refunds will be processed.
