πΏ Aloha, Maui! Join us as we honor the 2nd anniversary of the wildfires with action and healing.
The Rotary Club of Upcountry Maui is organizing a vital Kula Wildfire Recovery Workday next Friday, August 8th! This date marks two years since the devastating fires, making our collective effort to restore our community even more meaningful.
We're proud to partner with MΔlama Kula, a dedicated local organization, to focus on essential tasks like:
Planting native vegetation (especially vetiver to combat erosion) π±
Scattering wood chips to enrich the soil πͺ΅
Pulling invasive plants like nettle π§Ή
This is a hands-on opportunity to directly support Kula's recovery and help Maui heal. Activities will be tailored to all physical ability levels β everyone can contribute!
What to bring for a comfortable workday:
Closed-toed shoes π
Long pants & long sleeves π
Sunscreen π§΄
Water bottle & snacks π§
Sunglasses π
(We'll have plenty of gloves, but feel free to bring your own!)
ποΈ Date: Friday, August 8th
β° Time: Meet at 8:30 AM
π Meeting Spot: Kula Marketplace Parking Area (for carpooling/caravanning to the site)
