The Hatha Yoga programme guides students through a progressive series of postures known as asanas that systematically improves flexibility and strength, while relieving chronic muscular tension due to stress. This is a gentle yoga exercise that focuses on static poses.
This unique system of alignment-based Hatha Yoga has a wide scope of benefits, such as improving structural alignment, increasing strength and flexibility, reducing stress, regulating the breath and balancing the flow of vital energy.
Close attention is given to learning precise technique and alignment to maximize the benefits and minimize injury risk. Once the form is learned, the students just follow the calm guidance of the teacher while coordinating their breath with the movements in a rhythmic flow.
Classes typically start with a simple awareness practice to get you to be present moment.
Breathing exercises known as pranayama is the practice of breath control to improve oxygen saturation and overall re-balancing of the nervous system. This is followed by a gentle warm-up to relax stiff and tight muscles followed by a series of asanas to help improve balance, flexibility and strength.
The session will then be finally closed with a resting pose known as savasana to help restore and enhance the body system. Allowing the body to cool in this stage is a crucial reset for the whole physiology.
The Hatha Yoga programme is ideal for beginners as the practices can be adapted to meet the physical needs of each student.

About Your Instructor
Kat Chang is is committed to a lifelong practice of health and consciousness.
She is also a certified Yoga teacher, Pranayama instructor, Ayurvedic bodywork therapist, and an Usui Reiki mentor and therapist.
In 2007, she completed her Yoga Instructor’s training followed by her Yoga Therapist certification in 2010. This culminated finally with the completion of the Yoga Alliance’s 200-hour Yoga Teacher’s certification (RYS200) in 2018 with Yogavatar.
Incorporating the Japanese energy healing method of Reiki with the practice of Yoga, she seeks to create a safe space for people to feel open to explore the movements of their Body and the intricacies of the Mind to facilitate them in their journey to uncover the layers of their Heart.
