Velkommen til den første av tre offentlige samlinger.
TRANSFORMASJON / KONFLIKT / FLUKT
Har kunstnerisk aktivitet noe å bidra når vi møter utfordringer som krig, vold, flukt og ødeleggelse av natur og demokrati? Kan kunst utgjøre en forskjell når samfunnet ellers synes å svikte, når utfordringene virker uoverkommelige paradoksale eller for kompliserte? 
Del 1 innledes av André Tribbensee med visning av film som inneholder eksempler og intervjuer fra Tribbensees arbeide på på den greske øyen Lesbos, utført i samarbeid med NGO-er, kunstnere, aktivister, forskere og flyktninger. «We have to understand that our fates are intertwined».
Vi vil se på erfaringene og eksempler for aktivisme og kunst fra disse og tilsvarende kontekster, samle ideer, diskutere dem og se også på erfaringer deltakerne våre kan ha med seg.
Arrangementet er en blanding av seminar og symposium, der gjestene både kan lytte eller involvere seg direkte og være med på å forme symposiets innhold. I stedet for tradisjonelle foredrag eller paneldebatt som ofte passiviserer publikum, legger vi opp til samtale og bearbeidelse sammen med deltakerne. Kunst kan bli et rom for håp, der inne alt er mulig.

Symposiet inngår i BESØK, en arrangementrekke inne i utstillingen 'Uten tittel' av Jon S. Lunde. Prosjektet er støttet av Cultiva.

Gjennom samtale og diskusjon vil vi undersøke kunstens potensialer i møte med noen av vår tids største utfordringer.

Instead of a traditional panel discussion, which often leaves the audience passive, we invite active dialogue and collective reflection with participants. In this way, art can become a space for participation, resonance, and hope, where anything is possible.

THEME: Transformation, conflict and escape
Together with you, André Tribbensee seeks to highlight and exemplify the transformative potential of art, its ability to set processes in motion. Can artistic practice contribute to change when facing challenges such as war, violence, displacement, and the destruction of nature and democracy? Can art make a difference when society seems to fail? We will look at examples, talk together, and gather ideas.
Participants are welcome to contribute their own thoughts and experiences during the sessions.

PART 1 at Agder Kunstsenter 19 April 2026, kl.16.00 - ca. 18.30
Part 1 opens with an introduction and film presentation by André Tribbensee. It includes examples and interviews from his work on the refugee crisis on the Greek island of Lesbos, carried out in collaboration with NGOs, artists, and researchers. The issues explored are transferable to many contexts, and the questions that arise will be carried forward into Part 2 (on Ecology, 29. april 2026, kl.19.00 at Kraftverk Kristiansand) and Part 3 (open theme).

We will take time for in depth conversation and discussion, aiming to inspire both life and work beyond the event itself. Artists of all kinds, philosophers, thinkers, and all interested participants are welcome.

About André Tribbensee:
Tribbensee is a Kristiansand based multimedia artist, curator and lecturer. Coming from the field of visual and conceptual arts, he is currently working with documentary film, sound work, photography and activism in borderlands between fields of visual arts, performing arts and relational aesthetics. Member of both Norwegian Visual Artists and Scenekunst Sør. 
André has long been interested in transformative potentials of arts and its relevance in life and society. Since he migrated from Germany to Norway in 2000, he has been initiating multiple projects that experiment and reflect this. Long term collaborations with visual and performing artists, musicians and scientists, initiatives like Temporary Academy in 2014, his research and educational work related conflict zones such as on Lesbos Island between 2016-19, Det Parallelle Universitetet in Kristiansand, and his ongoing relational art project RESONANCE are examples for that.
