There's a rhythm older than cities, older than words. It lives in your chest, pulses through the earth, moves through every body that's ever gathered under open sky. For thousands of years, humans have heard this call – the drum that says "come together, move as one, remember who we are beneath all the layers."
That rhythm never stopped. It just kept finding new forms.
In the 90s, it found the kick drum. Deep. Pulsing. Relentless. A generation heard that ancient pulse in warehouse speakers and basement sound systems and remembered – oh! This is what gathering means. This is ceremony. This is tribe. Underground spaces became temples. Strangers became family by sunrise. The dancefloor became the one place where all the walls we'd built between us dissolved into pure connection.
They called it PLUR. Peace. Love. Unity. Respect. Not a new philosophy – an old one, remembered again. The same code that's guided every circle of humans who ever danced together in the dark.
Now we recall it again. Through the sounds that carried that awakening: Deep House, UK Garage, Jungle, Tribal. Through the frequencies that remind us we're all dancing to the same drum that's been beating since the first fire, the first gathering, the first moment humans moved together and felt what it means to be one tribe.
This is the recall to the jungle. Not back to a place, but back to a pulse. Back to connection. Back to ourselves.
THE NIGHT:
The sounds that awakened the tribe: Deep House. UK Garage. Jungle. Tribal.
This is where electronic music recognized its ancestry. The 90s rave scene heard something ancient in the kick drum, in the breaks, in the bass – and followed it home. These aren't just genres. They're different dialects of the same language we've always spoken when we gather.
Deep House that holds space, that lets you feel everything while holding you safe. UK Garage with its syncopated heartbeat that teaches your body new rhythms. Jungle – pure life force compressed into breakneck breaks and sub-bass that becomes your second pulse. Tribal drums that connect us across oceans and centuries, reminding us this has always been sacred.
Hip-hop rooted in truth. Spoken word that wakes you up. MCs who understand they're not performing – they're channeling what's already alive in the room, calling it forward, amplifying the collective energy.
HOLDING THE SPACE:
Hierta – a thriving creative collective from Umeå, carrying the flame with reverence for the roots
Klubb Botaniska – also from Umeå, weaving tribal rhythms from different worlds into one unified pulse
Yifan Shao & Pontus Kraft – performing cocreated experimental electronic compositions

BOTANISKA BAREN brings plant wisdom to the space – botanical alchemy that elevates, keeps you present, opens your heart without dulling your senses. Nature meeting nature.

Come as you are beneath the masks. Come ready to remember.
Move like your body knows something your mind forgot. Dance like you're answering a call that's been echoing for thousands of years – because you are.
Dress in whatever makes you feel free. Some will come dripping in color and light, others in their everyday skin – both are the tribe. Come as whatever version of alive you are tonight. Come expressive. Come real.

SLEEPING ARRANGEMENTS:
You are welcome to bring your own bedding and sleep on location. There will also be some mattresses available for borrowing. Donations are welcome for sleeping in the school.
If you want more privacy (or earlier sleep without the constant bass), a local resident is also offering sleepings spots upon request, for a small cost!
We recommend arriving for dinner – let's break bread before we break beats, gather the tribe before we move as one
