His identifying features are respect and empathy that he approaches the stars of his pictures with. The choice of the artist was not a mere coincidence. Jewish roots of the Morgensztern family reach out also to today’s Poland. One of the grandfathers of the artist came from Radzymin where he managed to survive World War II. The original exposition was prepared by the Jewish Museum in Vienna and curated by Danielle Spera and Astrid Peterle. The implementation in Galicia Jewish Museum is possible thanks to the cooperation with the General Consulate of Austria in Kraków ad coincides with important dates in the Austrian calendar of commemoration. May 5th 2025 marks the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Nazi concentration camp Mauthausen, one of the most brutal labor and death camps where over 80.000 people lost their lives, including Jews and Poles. The exhibition constitutes part of the celebrations of Austrian Holocaust Remembrance Day that falls on January 27th - the anniversary of the liberation of KL Auschwitz.
