Táncos, koreográfus, edző, énekes és színész.
Maykel Havannában született 1976. október 10-én.
Kuba leghíresebb tánciskolájában, a Tropicanaban végezte tanulmányait, ahol balettet, modern és kortárs táncokat, afrót, rumbát (guaguanco, yambù, columbia) tanult olyan híres oktatóktól, mint Santiago Alfonso.
2000-ben Olaszországba költözött az Ire Batà társulattal, majd több olyan tanárral dolgozhatott együtt, mint Virgilio Pitzalis, Marco Macchetti, Steve LaChance, Gus Bemberry, Christopher Uggins, Chacalli, Paganini. 2005-ben professzionális flamenco kurzust végzett a Spanyolországban található Jerezben. Olyan műfajokban is gyakorlatot szerzett, mint jazz, hip-hop, flamenco, latin táncok és akrobatika.
2002-től kezdett utazni nemzetközi rendezvényekre, mint oktató, előadó és koreográfus. Nagyszerű show-k sztárjaként léphetett fel, mint amilyenek Milton Morales és a Mercadonegro műsorai voltak és díjakat nyert el, mint a legjobb koreográfus és legjobb táncos (World Salsa Congress, 2006). Többek között dolgozott a Buena Vista Social Club-bal is.

2013-tól az olasz „Dancing with the stars“ (RAI1) sztártáncosa (Partnerei voltak: Veronica Logan, Giorgia Surina, Asia Argento, Giuliana de Sio, Alessandra Mussolini, Mieta).
Alkotója és énekese olyan híres zenéknek, mint az „Igual que yo” és Maykel Blanco társaként a „Dale lo que lleva”.

Dancer, choreographer, coach, singer, actor.
Maykel was born in Havana 10.10.1976.
He graduated in the most famous dance school in Cuba, the Tropicana, where he studied ballet, modern and contemporary dance, afro, rumba (guaguanco, yambù, columbia) from famous teachers like Santiago Alfonso.
In 2000 he moved to Italy with the group Ire Batà and studied with several teachers including Virgilio Pitzalis, Marco Macchetti, Steve LaChance, Gus Bemberry, Christopher Uggins, Chacalli, Paganini and many more. In 2005, he attended a professional course of flamenco in Jerez – Spain. Practiced disciplines: jazz, hip hop, flamenco, latin-american dances and acrobatics.
From 2002 he started travelling internationally as a teacher, performer and choreographer.
Maykel Fonts has performed for great shows, including tours with Milton Morales and Mercadonegro, and earned accolades such as winning “Best Choreography” and “Best Dancer” at the 2006 World Salsa Congress. He has also worked with the Buena Vista Social Club.
