- **Event Description**: Vabljeni na odprtje mednarodne razstave Salt in the Wound, Gold in the Vault, ki jo v okviru evropskega projekta UNTOLD EUROPE predstavlja INNOVATO Ljubljana.

Odprtje se bo začelo z nagovori Ilije Prokopieva, kuratorja razstave, in Zorice Velkovske, izvršne direktorice Inštituta INNOVATO Ljubljana.

Po uradnem delu bodo obiskovalci povabljeni na vodeni ogled po razstaviščih v Kopru, ki mu bo sledila filmska projekcija ter pogovor z umetnico Heleno Wittmann.

O RAZSTAVI
Razstava Salt in the Wound, Gold in the Vault, predstavljena v Sloveniji, povezuje umetnike iz različnih evropskih kontekstov v raziskovanju dediščine kolonializma — preteklosti in sedanjosti.

Razstava združuje dva ključna umetniška pogleda:
— ustvarjalce, ki se s kolonialno zgodovino soočajo skozi osebno ali dedovano izkušnjo, ter
— tiste, ki kolonialne strukture preučujejo preko njihovega kulturnega, etičnega in političnega vpliva, čeprav sami niso neposredni dediči kolonialne travme.

Z instalacijami, videi in multimedijskimi deli razstava vabi k razmisleku o evropskih kolonialnih prepletenostih in tem, kako te še vedno oblikujejo identiteto, migracije in razmerja moči. Umetniki ponujajo protirasistične, feministične in dekolonialne interpretacije, ki izzivajo prevladujoče zgodovinske narative ter odpirajo prostor za nove načine spominjanja in upora.

?? **OPENING OF THE EXHIBITION
Join us for the opening of the international exhibition Salt in the Wound, Gold in the Vault, presented by INNOVATO Ljubljana within the European project UNTOLD EUROPE.

The opening programme will begin with welcome remarks by Ilija Prokopiev, curator of the exhibition, and Zorica Velkovska, Executive Director of the Institute INNOVATO Ljubljana.
After the official opening, visitors are invited to join a guided tour through the exhibition locations across Koper, followed by a film screening and conversation with artist Helena Wittmann.

ABOUT THE EXHIBITION
Hosted in Slovenia, Salt in the Wound, Gold in the Vault brings together artists from across Europe to confront and re-examine the legacy of colonialism — past and present.

The exhibition unfolds along two intertwined perspectives:
— artists who engage with colonial histories through personal or inherited experience, and
— artists who, though not direct inheritors of colonial trauma, address its ethical, cultural, and political resonance in the present.

Through installations, video, and multimedia works, the exhibition invites audiences to critically reflect on Europe’s colonial entanglements and how they continue to shape identity, migration, and power. The artists offer anti-racist, feminist, and decolonial approaches that challenge dominant historical narratives and propose new ways of remembering, resisting, and reframing.
