The village is the abode to the renowned Datababa Lalon Ashram along with housing eminent Baul Fakiri gurus like Arman Fakir, Khaibar Fakir, Babu Fakir, and Golam Fakir. The village is also home to vibrant music schools run by seasoned artists like Babu Fakir, dedicated to preserving and imparting the philosophical depth and musical artistry of Baul Fakiri traditions to the next generation.
Immerse yourself in the rich cultural scene of Gorbhanga by visiting its various Akhras, where the heart of Baul Fakiri tradition beats. These spiritual hubs are more than just spaces of music; they are living schools where philosophy, music, and community converge. As you step into these serene environments, you'll witness how the Bauls nurture their cultural legacy collectively, passing down wisdom and melodies from one generation to the next. The first evening after checking in will be spent at Gorbhanga listening to the songs. It will be around midnight when we will return to our Stay at Asannagar.
Accommodation : NON AC ROOMS with attached bath (WC) AT PRAAKRIT HOME STAY, ASANNAGAR. THERE ARE TWO ROOMS ON FIRST FLOOR AND TWO ROOMS IN GROUND FLOOR. THERE IS ALSO ONE ATTICK ROOM. TOTAL 5 ROOMS, ALL NON AC.
During your stay here you will be served freshly cooked organic village food (Bengali cuisine, both Veg and Non veg) over wood fire, Khejurer gur from their own date trees and pan cakes (peethe).
TRANSPORT : AC Vehicle for transfers Kolkata to Kolkata and for visiting Gorbhanga.
