Rabindranath Tagore and Rajanikanta Sen’s intimacy, their cultural exchanges and their discussions on music and literature have been widely talked about. However, what has remained unexplored is their mutual musical influences. And those impressions have been reflected not only on their tunes, but also on their lyrics.
‘Rojoni-r Robi’, featuring Saumya De, Jayita Kundu, Sudipa Hari, Dwiptanil Bhattacharya, Mainak Biswas and Tanmoy Saha, is a production to celebrate the footprints of these two legends and bring to the forefront their mutual musical influences.
On the occasion of Rajanikanta Sen’s 154th birthday, ‘Rojoni-r Robi’ will be performed on 28th July, Sunday, at Tagore Research Institute, Rabindracharcha Bhavan, 6 PM onwards.
The celebration will be decked with a special perfomance, “Somorpon-er Gaan-e Rajanikanta o Rabindranath”, by ‘Srishtinagar’, directed by Munmun Mukherjee.
