Avira as a female Indian name, ancient in origin and yet had just gained popularity in the recent days due to its cryptic inner meanings. Originally it was said to mean bright but it also means brave & strong, is a mark of an independent woman and is synonymous to Shakti. The Indian name was also adopted into the British child-naming system due to its meaning and value in the recent years.
8th March, today, celebrated as International Women’s’ Day, worldwide have given us a strange notion that it is OK to remember the gender based contributions in our lives for a day, and then go back to doing what we, the society does best – Objectify, Oppress & Suppress. In recent years the Violence against Women and Children have increased manifolds with hardly any legal action being actively executed or justice being served to the victimized. Hardly, any……
This is an unacceptable aspect of today’s society, which is blinded by false propaganda but yet fail to understand the basic fundamental truth – that if it had not been for a woman, our existence would not be there. To celebrate Women’s day for just one day and forget the rest of 364 is pretty much a social crime. Women do not need our empowerment. All they need is a supportive, understanding society that has the strength and ability to stand shoulder to shoulder, gender bias kept aside.
So, if the society in general does not help do that, it falls on us to do something about it. We cannot change every mindset, but we do can change the very basic aspect of thoughts that “Women need Empowerment”. No, Women can empower themselves. We might as well work together to just add some value to it.
So, PROJECT AVIRA is a concept, an endeavor, a challenge for us who wishes to make a difference on this International Working* Women’s Day 2020 and make the thought a year-round phenomenon. It is a tool to add to the empowered, an idea to be given to the strong, a wish to be given to the hopeful and a power to be handed over to the lesser privileged.
Self-defense & street survival at its best to be given out, effectively complementary, for those who wish to seek it. However, there is no free bread in this world and every good thing needs to be earned. To earn your spot with PROJECT AVIRA every willing participant needs to make & execute one pledge – Learn & Contribute. Meaning? Simple – To be able to be a part of this program you will have to register with one pledge, that once you learn you will go back and organize one small workshop of the same, free of cost in your community, office, school, college or anywhere where you feel it is needed. Ratio is for 6 of your complementary workshops, you need to organize 1, where our teachers/trainers/coaches will go and give a practical hands on Self-defense/street defense training, motivational, confidence & reflex building components along with the medical & legal aspects of the subject, to all the attendees.
Now, PROJECT AVIRA is essentially, a WOMEN SELF DEFENSE PROGRAM but it allows your closest friends & family(including husband & children) IF YOU, THE GIRL/LADY feels that their support and involvement is an essential, irremovable part of your life. Because, when we come to think of it, in an active street assault situation where your loved ones are with you, you may know how to save yourself and they don’t will not be of much help to escape the situation without any loss. Wouldn’t it?
So, on 8th March 2020, on the stereotyped occasion of WOMEN’S DAY we, Team Kratoz Combat pledge to stand by all the WOMEN– the power house of the society, in a belief to make the streets a little more safe, the society a little more tolerant, with a hope for a better tomorrow.
ALL INDIVIDUAL WORKSHOP/SEMINAR DETAILS WILL BE POSTED IN THE EVENT LINK ON 1st/2nd OF EVERY MONTH STARTING APRIL 2020.
