- **Event Description**: Nature journaling is a fun and creative way to observe and connect with the natural world—especially birds! In this program, kids will learn how to use journaling to record what they see, hear, and feel while birding. We’ll do a few guided activities to spark observation skills and practice simple drawing techniques to help capture the birds we spot. You don’t have to be an artist—just bring your curiosity and love for nature!

This program is part of our monthly Kid’s Birding Club and is designed for children ages 8–12. First-time participants will receive their very own birding journal to start recording sightings. Please meet at the Bluebird Barn at 10:00 AM. We’ll take a short walk (less than ½ mile) to the shaded outdoor classroom on Hickory Ridge Trail for journaling and sketching activities.

Please bring water, a notebook with blank pages, a pencil, and colored pencils if you have them. Parents or guardians are welcome to stay and observe or take a walk nearby. Pets are not permitted on programs, with the exception of service animals.
