# Event Details - **Event Name**: La tradition continue - internationaler Workshop für Rhythmen aus Guinea - **Event Start and End Date**: Fri, 21 Aug, 2026 at 03:00 pm – Thu, 27 Aug, 2026 at 01:00 pm - **Event Description**: english version below francais voir ci-dessous Liebe(r)...., ab August 2026 möchte ich gerne die Tradition fortführen, die Billys Vater Famoudou Konaté (einer der ältesten Djembémeister) über Jahrzehnte in Deutschland etabliert hat und darin bestand, zwei mal eine ganze Woche (also zwei Wochen am Stück) traditionelle Rhythmen, Lieder und Tänze der Malinké-Workshops anzubieten, zu denen Teilnehmer aus der ganzen Welt (!!!) anreisten, um tief in die guineische Musik und Kultur einzutauchen und sich verzaubern zu lassen! Ich persönlich habe von 1997 - 2015 insgesamt 18 mal daran teilgenommen und immer sehr genossen, sehr viel gelernt, nette Menschen aus allen Kontinenten getroffen und bin jedesmal voller Lust, gestärkt, motiviert und inspiriert fürs ganze Jahr wieder nach Hause gefahren! Solch eine intensive Woche (eventuell zwei) und wundervolle Gelegenheit möchte ich ab August 2026 gern jährlich mit seinem Sohn Billy organisieren, schaffen, fortführen und damit weiter leben lassen! Teilnahmevoraussetzung: du darfst Djembé- und/oder Basstrommelvorkenntnisse haben und gerne auch schon (mehrjährige) regelmäßige Spielerfahrung mitbringen. Der Workshop findet im Seminarhaus Jonathan statt, welches sich oberhalb von Cochem an der Mosel befindet; rund um - die Eifel - und zugleich auf dem Hunsrück, in ruhiger (Traum-) und Alleinlage am Waldrand inmitten von Wiesen und Feldern. Es gibt einen herrlichen riesigen Garten, wo wir bei sommerlichem Wetter auch draußen spielen können. (siehe www.seminarhaus-jonathan.de) Beginn ist am Freitag, dem 21.08.2026 um 15 Uhr, Ankunft ab 14 Uhr Ende ist am Donnerstag, dem 27.08.2026 um 13 Uhr, Abreise bis 14 Uhr Täglich werden 5 Stunden Trommelunterricht mit Djembé und Basstrommeln und eine Stunde Tanz zum jeweils erlernten Rhythmus angeboten, den man auch live begleiten kann, wenn man nicht tanzen möchte. Fr 15-18 Uhr Trommeln 20-21 Uhr Tanz Sa - Mi 10-13 Uhr Trommeln 16-18 Uhr Trommeln 20-21 Uhr Tanz Do 10-13 Uhr Trommeln Insgesamt gibt es mindestens 35 Stunden Unterricht. Die Kosten für den Unterricht betragen 490 €. Die Unterkunft ist möglich im: - Einzelzimmer (48 € pro Nacht und Person) - Doppelzimmer (35 € pro Nacht und Person) - Mehrbettzimmer (28 € pro Nacht und Person) - eigenen Wohnmobil, Campingvan oder Zelt (24 € pro Nacht und Person, erst nach Belegung aller Zimmer möglich). Die Kosten für die Endreinigung in Höhe von 200 € werden durch die Anzahl der Teilnehmer geteilt. Es gibt vier Mehrbettzimmer, elf Doppelzimmer, die auch als Einzelzimmer belegt werden können und ein Einzelzimmer. Die (Voll-)Verpflegung erfolgt durch einen Koch/Köchin, der/die uns in vegetarischer/veganer Bioqualität bekochen wird. That tradition involved offering two consecutive weeks of workshops—two full weeks in a row—focused on traditional Malinké rhythms, songs, and dances, attracting participants from all over the world (!!!) who came to immerse themselves deeply in Guinean music and culture and be truly enchanted! Personally, I participated a total of 18 times between 1997 and 2015; I always thoroughly enjoyed the experience and learned so much, met lovely people from every continent, and returned home each time feeling energized, motivated, and inspired for the year ahead! I would love to organize, create, and continue this wonderful opportunity—an intensive week (or possibly two)—annually starting in August 2026, working alongside his son Billy to keep the tradition alive! Prerequisites for participation: You should have some prior knowledge of djembe and/or bass drums and ideally bring along regular playing experience (ideally spanning several years). The workshop will take place at the Seminarhaus Jonathan, located above Cochem on the Mosel River—situated between the Eifel and Hunsrück regions— in a peaceful, secluded, and idyllic spot at the edge of the forest, surrounded by meadows and fields.
