- **Event Description**: Whimsy and wild, moss to many of us as children meant fairies were afoot. Moss, however, is a gateway to much more than childhood fantasy; it's an extremely important organism that holds the story of the forest within its structure. Join an Ijams naturalist to rediscover the wonders of moss, learn how to identify different species, and understand its importance within the vast ecosystem.

All participants MUST complete an Assumption of Risk Form (only once in a calendar year) prior to participation in a program: ijams.org/waiver

If you have already filled out a waiver for another Ijams Education program this year, there is no need to fill out another one. 

Meeting Place: This program is designed to meet at Mead's Quarry. Please park in the quarry parking lot and meet Ijams staff near the picnic tables. 

Ages: This program is designed for ages 16+

Accessibility: Participants can expect to travel a distance of up to 1.5 miles during the duration of the program over uneven surfaces that may include rocks, roots, and gravel. This program includes various stopping points.

Parking: Parking for this Ijams Education Course is free for all participants. Please arrive 5-10 minutes before the course begins to obtain a free parking pass upon check-in. Refund Policy: No walk-ins will be accepted. Every participant must have a ticket. Ijams only awards full refunds for any cancellations up to 7 days before a program, or if Ijams cancels a program due to inclement weather. Refunds are not awarded for programs with fees of $5 or less for any reason. Tickets are non-transferable.
