                "description": "Scott has been involved in crisis and suicide prevention work in one form or another since 2007. Just out of Divinity School, Scott took a job at Family and Children's Service in Nashville as a crisis counselor. There he learned the importance of listening. Upon moving to Knoxville, Scott worked in a substance use harm reduction program, and he has also served as a hospice chaplain.Scott is currently employed by Contact Care Line, where he serves as Manager of Outreach and Support. Scott facilitates training to prevent suicide including ASIST, QPR, Mental Health First Aid, Active Listening, and Self-Care.  Scott also facilitates Survivors of Suicide Loss Groups where he has been educated about traumatic grief and the toll it brings.Scott says, “Suicide has touched me personally many times. I have lost friends and family to suicide. However, I have also been privileged to witness people overcome suicide thought and behavior and reconnect with hope, life, community, family and friends.”"
