Help celebrate this significant golden anniversary with fun, hands-on activities for all ages, speakers, refreshments, exhibits, and more! Thank you for making Ijams part of YOUR story!

Special Programs

10:30-11 am: Former Ijams Executive Directors Bo Townsend and Paul James, Ijams President/CEO Amber Parker, and City of Knoxville Mayor Indya Kincannon speak about Ijams Nature Center, past, present, and future. 

11:30 am-12 pm: Former Ijams Senior Naturalist Stephen Lyn Bales, beloved local educator, author, and artist, presents "What Children in Nature Can Teach Us."

12 pm and 1 pm: Ijams naturalists lead guided hikes.

Ijams Ambassador Animals Silent Art Auction: Bid to win the artistic creations of some of your favorite animal ambassadors! Winning bidders will receive the artwork, a photo of the artist, and a story card about that animal.

Ijams Homecoming King/Queen Contest: Make a $1 donation for a ticket to vote for the Ijams animal ambassador you think should be the Ijams Homecoming King or Queen! Runners-up will serve on the Homecoming Court. Vote as many times as you'd like!

Become a new member or donate $50 for 50 and you'll receive a special Ijams logo sticker!
