We’re thrilled to welcome you back to one of the Outer Banks' favorite holiday traditions—the 16th Annual OBX Turkey Trot in the beautiful Town of Southern Shores!
Start your Thanksgiving morning surrounded by family, friends, and community spirit as you lace up your sneakers and join us for a fun-filled 5K and Children’s Fun Run. Whether you run, jog, or walk, this event is all about gratitude, health, and giving back.

This family-friendly event is not officially timed, so if you'd like to track your pace, bring a watch or check the clock at the finish line.
💛 Why We Run:
Proceeds benefit OBX GO FAR (Go Out For A Run), a local non-profit dedicated to promoting healthy habits and positive character traits in children while training them for a 5K or Fun Run. Your participation helps fund scholarships, ensuring more kids can join our programs! We’re proud to have impacted over 12,000 young runners across Dare County thanks to supporters like you!
*** Online registration will open September 1st for 5K for $45 and 1 Mile Fun Run for $25. Each registered participant will receive our awesome, one-of-a-kind Turkey Trot T-shirt and custom medal during the qualifying registration period (9/1- 10/31). $$Price increase is November 1st.
