Step aboard a spine-tingling adventure with our monthly haunted boat tours to the beautifully restored Wood Island Life Saving Station, just across the water from the famously eerie Portsmouth Harbor Light. Once abandoned for over 60 years, this historic island now invites you to experience its breathtaking revival—while uncovering the ghostly echoes that still linger. As you cruise out of Portsmouth, you’ll hear chilling tales of the seacoast’s mysterious past, including great views of the Portsmouth Naval Prison, Fort McClary, Fort Foster and Portsmouth Harbor and Whaleback Lighthouses.

Once ashore, you’ll explore the island, climb the tower for stunning coastal views, and even try your hand with dowsing rods to detect spirits. This little island is also great for beach combing, we will give you an opportunity to explore the tide pools during your visit. This tour is an unforgettable blend of history, mystery, and atmosphere. Even better, a portion of every ticket supports the preservation of the station and benefits local nonprofits like Gather, helping fight food insecurity in the community—so your afternoon of thrills also gives back. Guests will also take home a small souvenir from their tour upon the return to Portsmouth.
