ABOUT OUR FACILITATOR:Kasia Kord, http://www.kasiayoga.com
"I am a wife to a marvelous gentle partner for the past 25 years and counting, a mommy to three kiddos who are my greatest teachers and inspiration, daughter to a loving and resilient lineage of mothers and fathers who immigrated to Canada from Poland in the 1960s and fortunate enough to be a friend to a beautiful community of people who I have had the privilege of finding around the world. I am a Registered Massage Therapist with 20 years of experience in the field, a graduate of Religious Studies from the University of Waterloo with a specialty in Eastern Spirituality and the Roman Catholic female mystical tradition.
I have been practicing yoga for over 25 years, and teaching for over 20. I have trained in a wide variety of styles, with Kundalini being my passion for the past 15 years. I have attended numerous trainings and annual gatherings in the Kundalini community throughout North America. I completed an intensive Kundalini Yoga teacher training through the Kundalini Yoga Research Institute (KRI), with Gurmukh Kaur Khalsa and Gurshabd Singh in Rishikesh, India. I teach Kundalini Yoga classes in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada. I have a beautiful, small studio where I hold several classes a week. I run workshops and Kundalini happenings around, Kitchener, Waterloo, Guelph, Toronto and beyond.
Kundalini yoga is a passion for me. It along with Bhakti yoga have been the most powerfully transformational tools in my own life. It is from these traditions that i teach. I have been blessed enough to have had the ability to learn from so many incredible teachers from around the world and then had the freedom to practice and explore these traditions, that I believe that it is my duty to teach this practice. Kundalini and Bhakti have allowed me to really “get” connecting to spirit, infinity, divinity and energy. Kundalini Yoga as taught by Yogi Bhajan in particular in its dynamic combination of movement, mudra, pranayama, meditation, mantra, music, dance, breath and deep introspection has been my primary course of study and practice for 15 years. It is this practice that saved me in one of the deepest traumas of my life. It continues to be a practice that gives me so much strength, peace and understanding regardless of what shows up in my life. Via the body; our vehicle for transformation; mind and spirit, we are able to get to all those places within that have been buried waiting for us to call them forth to the surface to be made clear in the light of our chosen practice. In these practices we call to the surface all that needs to be surrendered and then via our own efforts are able to release, reveal and breath into space, connection and freedom found and restored within. One of the key mantras of this practice is “bountiful, beautiful and blissful”. Kundalini yoga helps us bring this forth through powerful movement, intense internal exploration and song."
ABOUT US:Marit Collective is a social organization that encourages a culture of depth and thoughtfulness through exploring personal insight and human connection. We create space for respectful discussion and consciousness-raising within our own groups and community, working at the personal level to foster more empathy and awareness of each other. We believe that individual shifts in understanding can lead to larger societal evolution in an increasingly polarized world.
Our new home, the Causerie, is a place to listen, learn, and connect across perspectives. With this space, we are working to build a community centered around thoughtful discussion & deeper consideration of complex issues through sharing ideas and personal points-of-view.
