LGBTQ+ 101 and Allyship in the Workplace
In this lunch and learn, free to any Communitech members, OK2BME will cover basic terms, common issues and best practices for being an ally and advocate in the workplace to our LGBTQ+ friends and colleagues.
Did you know that in Waterloo Region, only 54% of lesbian, gay, bisexual and queer staff are out to co-workers and only 27% of transgender staff are out to their co-workers? Research suggest that when people are concealing their sexual identity, it reduces workplace efficiency by up to 30 per cent!
In this open and honest conversation you'll learn about how to be the Ally you've always wanted to be. All questions are welcome and free lunch and refreshments will be served. Please RSVP so we know how much lunch to order!
