Freedom to Succeed
Job Seekers: Why not be your own boss?
Join us on April 11 to gain insight, advice, and inspiration from entrepreneurial guest speakers who have successfully transitioned from employee to self-employed business owners. This first installment in our Freedom to Succeed series is aimed at those who are thinking about entrepreneurship or are just starting their own business. Our experienced panel will share their own success stories, and provide key information for you to learn about:
Proven strategies for successful self-employment
How to identify and promote your hidden talents
The importance of building and nurturing a dynamic network.
The Agenda: The clinic runs from 9:00 - 11:00 am with activities as follows:
9:00-9:30 am – Networking
It's a great opportunity to mingle ahead of the talks. Who knows, you may meet some important new contacts, or possibly even future clients attending the clinic in hopes of meeting someone like you! Tea/coffee and a light breakfast will be served.
9:30-10:30 am – Guest Speakers share insights and answer questions
Each of our guest speakers has a unique and important insight to share with you on making the transition to self-employed. Here's a little about what each speaker will cover:
Rachel Despres: Why you should (or shouldn't) be your own boss.? The challenges that come with this lifestyle and leap of faith? How to assess your readiness?
Laura Hartnell: How to represent both yourself and small business in a unified way both online and in-person? How to show your value when you are just starting out?
Don Critelli: Where to start your entrepreneurship journey? Where to focus first and how do you build relationships that will help your business grow?
10:30-11:00 am – More networking, plus one-on-one consultations with our speakers
Many attendees will be participants of our BYOB 2019 competition. This is a great opportunity to connect with others in a similar stage of starting a business and support one another. Also, our speakers will be available if you would like to speak with them in greater detail.
Seating is limited and available on a first-come-first-served basis! Book now!
