February Community Food Sorting at The Food Bank of Waterloo Region
Sorting community food donations is a fun and engaging experience, all while helping to get much-needed food to our neighbours. Each year our volunteer groups sort 900,000 pounds of community food donations.
Space is limited at each event, and registration is required! Don't miss out, register today.
Age Limit: Children must be 8 years of age or older to participate in food sorting. All children between the ages of 8 and 17 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian and have a waiver form signed (available on site during the activity).
Donation: Please support the work of The Food Bank and bring a non-perishable food or monetary donation with you to food sorting. A bag of our most needed food items; $10 for an adult, $5 for a child, or $20 for a family. Tax receipts are available for all monetary donations or proof of food purchase.
You may make your financial donation by cash, credit card or cheque when you arrive, or in advance at thefoodbank.ca/donate.
Attire: For many of the volunteer activities you will be working in a warehouse environment and heavy lifting may be required. For your comfort and safety, we require you to wear closed toe and flat footwear. Work gloves are optional. Dress comfortably and in layers as the temperature can fluctuate.
