Students will learn the detailed process of making a proper high-end handmade knife.This course will teach you every step for forging a hidden tang knife; from creating the blade from a raw piece of high carbon steel, to the final finishing of the wooden handle. A hidden tang knife is one where you cannot see how the blade is fixed to the handle, as the back part of knife is completely hidden.You will use a traditional coke forge to heat the steel, and hand hammering techniques to create the blade profile. After sanding and filing it to a refined shape, you will learn how to heat treat it by hardening and tempering it in the fire.
