A total of 20 hours of workshops dedicated to building ensemble, trust, and comedic chemistry through the crafting a never-before-seen longform improv structure. The series culminates on the ninth week with a student showcase to unveil your new creation in front of a live audience of friends and family! Enrolment is capped at 8 participants for maximum stage time and ensemble cohesion!---Prerequisites:In order to perform with the New Format Ensemble you need to have taken classes with Pinch before.Comparable experience with other improv schools or ensembles may be accepted, please email Ben@PinchCabaret.com directly to inquire.---Schedule:Classes: Tuesdays, 7-9:30pm | June 30 - Aug 18Show: TBD---Venue:This workshop will take place at 165 King St W, Kitchener. This is the same building as Libro Credit Union downtown. The studio is in the basement and Ben will meet you at the street entrance to head down together. Make sure you go to King St West, not East!---If class price is an issue, reach out. Reduced pricing is always available.---About the instructor:Ben Gorodetsky is an improviser, director, and educator based in Kitchener, Ontario. They are curator and host of Pinch Cabaret, KW's BEST LOCAL EVENT, as voted by the readers of the Waterloo Chronicle. Ben is co-creator of political satire comedy duo Folk Lordz (VICE) and has performed, taught, and directed improvisation at The Magnet Theatre (NYC), Out of Bounds Comedy (Austin), UCB (LA), Highwire Comedy (Atlanta), English Lovers (Vienna), IGLU (Ljubljana), FERIIR (Reunion Island), Bad Dog (Toronto), and Blind Tiger (Vancouver). His performance work has been presented by The Art Gallery of Ontario, CAFKA, Lumen Fest, Movement Research at Judson Church, The Tank NYC, Mile Zero Dance, Brian Webb Dance Company, Expanse Festival of Movement Arts, Rubaboo Festival, Guelph Dance Festival, SpringWorks, and the Gas Station Arts Centre. Ben is the former Associate Artistic Director of Rapid Fire Theatre a nominee for a Canadian Comedy Award.
